Nakta Cafe: The Newest Resort Style Cafe In Gyeonggi-do

Nakta Cafe is an enormous resort-style cafe in the middle of a forest overlooking a mountain in Gyeonggi-do. Nakta, which translates to “camel,” is a sprawling three-story cafe in the middle of nature that opened in May 2022.

The first and second floors feature floor-to-ceiling windows that let in plenty of natural light while providing a great vantage point for taking in the scenery. Visit the entire building while you are there; third-floor seats are available. If you’re a nature lover, the rooftop is the best place to be because you’ll be able to see everything from a birds-eye perspective.

However, the cafe’s outdoor seating is the real draw. Cross-legged on the wooden platform of a Korean-style hut, you can take in the breeze. This location is a godsend in the brutal summer heat because it is both protected from the elements and well ventilated.

Cushion seats are available for those concerned about aching butts while sitting on the wooden floor.

The rattan parasol-covered seats are located further away from the Korean-style hut. Because it looks like something you might find in a tropical paradise such as Bali, let’s not let our imaginations run wild.

At Nakta, you can take in stunning views of the Dobongsan mountain, which connects Seoul with Gyeonggi-do province. There is a small valley in the middle of the sweltering summers where you can take a break from the heat. Locals use these valleys to cool off in hot weather, so don’t be shy about dipping your toes in the water. Your fellow cafe-goers are probably doing the same thing.

Nakta truly is a tropical paradise, as evidenced by the immense size of its facilities and the breathtaking views. This may be a cue for the weary and weary of taking a break and slowing down in Nakta.

Nakta’s food is just as delicious as the view. The cafe is renowned for its shio pan, which translates to “salt bread” in Japanese. Despite the bread’s plain appearance, it is stuffed with butter, and each bite is a treat. Thanks to the chef who introduced shio pan on Wednesday Food Talk, a Korean talk show about food, Nakta’s best-selling bread is soft and airy while maintaining a crisp exterior texture: shio pan.

Aside from the stunning views, Nakta’s food is also excellent. The cafe is renowned for its shio pan, which translates to “salt bread” in Japanese.

Despite the bread’s unassuming appearance, it is oozing with butter, making every bite a feast for the senses. Thanks to the chef who introduced shio pan on Wednesday Food Talk, a Korean talk show about food, Nakta’s best-selling bread is soft and airy while maintaining a crisp exterior texture: shio pan.

The Basil Tomato shio pan (KRW4,600, or $3.51 U.S.) and the Kaya Coconut shio pan (KRW4,800, or $3.66 U.S.) are two of their best sellers. It’s also very popular to drink the Magic Passion Fruit Ade (KRW8,500, about USD6.49) in the hot summer weather. It’s also worth trying the Nakta Gold Frappe (KRW9,000, USD6.87) if you’re caffeine and fruity flavour fan.

Shio pan isn’t for everyone, but don’t worry. Chocolate Castella and Creamy Castella are just two of the many desserts available. Each one costs KRW9,500 (about USD7.25).
