Jeju’s Hello Kitty Island In South Korea

Hello Kitty is the most well-known Sanrio character. Hello Kitty, despite being 47 years old and having been created in 1974, remains a global phenomenon. Hello Kitty, according to Sanrio’s character biography, was born in the United Kingdom and resided in London. She has established a second residence on Jeju Island, where Hello Kitty Island is located.

Fans of Hello Kitty can visit Hello Kitty’s home and dine in a Hello Kitty-themed cafe.

Hello Kitty Island is not an island, despite its name; it is an exhibition hall with a museum and a cafe. The museum section features various themed rooms and photo-friendly interactive displays, while the cafe serves Hello Kitty-themed sweets.

The large Hello Kitty “tree” is as tall as the museum’s second floor and takes center stage in the lobby. This is one of their most impressive displays, making it quite memorable.

It may be difficult for Hello Kitty devotees who share a home to create a Hello Kitty-themed environment. However, you can live out your wildest Hello Kitty fantasies in Hello Kitty’s house, where everything – from her living room to her bathroom – is decorated with Hello Kitty-themed furniture and knickknacks.

During holidays such as Halloween and Christmas, you can visit Hello Kitty Island to take photos in rooms decorated for the occasion. Or, if you’re travelling with people who despise the colour pink, it’s a good idea to visit during these special occasions, as they won’t be as overpowered by it.
