The Department of Tourism (DOT) collaborates with Mystery Manila on “Where in the Philippines is Sam San Mateo?” an online mystery tour of the Philippines. The gamified virtual tour uses real tour guides stationed in various locations across the country to lead the game via video streaming.

Participants can take on the role of virtual travelers as they visit notable monuments and places in the Philippines in search of useful clues that would lead them to the next destination and assist them track down Sam San Mateo, the game’s fictitious travel vlogger.
This virtual tour allows visitors to explore the beauty and charm of the Philippines’ 7,641 islands from the comfort of their computers, including historic cities, breathtaking sunsets, picture-perfect beaches with crystal clear oceans, and extraordinary mountain views.
The highly interactive 60 to 90-minute trip will immerse players in the next best thing to real travel, allowing them to see and remember why #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines. For a unique and interesting experience, players can connect with locals via live tour guides, participate in local events, and make choices that effect the tour’s result.
The game will be accessible to all players and free to the public on all Sundays in December, commencing on the 6th.
