The Department of Tourism (DOT) launches the second phase of the Save Our Spots (SOS) campaign, “Keep the Fun Going,” to encourage tourists to travel in an environmentally friendly manner.

The campaign builds on the success of the SOS phase one campaign, which was launched in 2019 to educate travelers on how to be responsible tourists. “Keep the Fun Going” seeks to educate and motivate travelers to participate in sustainable tourism practices, primarily through gamified challenges.
The Philippines is home to some of the world’s most diverse ecosystems and species, which are threatened by both climate change and human threats such as overtourism and environmental neglect.

The campaign will highlight a gamified experience featuring four eco-friendly ways to travel in order to inspire more tourists to practice sustainable travel. The challenges will be demonstrated in collaboration with local key influencers, and the public will be encouraged to complete at least two of the four activities, which are as follows:

- The “Certified Foot Soldier Challenge” encourages tourists to walk, hike, or bike more often;
- The “Zero-Waste Warrior Challenge” encourages tourists to reduce waste by avoiding single-use plastics and always bringing reusable water bottles, utensils, and shopping bags;
- The “Eco-Staycationer Challenge,” which encourages tourists to stay in environmentally friendly accommodations such as local homestays or ANAHAW-awardee hotels that promote sustainability.
Participants can win by completing at least two challenges and posting them on social media in accordance with the following guidelines:

STEP 1: Photograph yourself completing the challenges.
As proof for Certified Foot Soldier, you can use an app to track or record your steps or bike ride.
Best if you can include an eco-friendly practice of the establishment in your video for Eco-staycationer. Camping and staycation trips (in a green hotel) are both acceptable.
STEP 2: Add your photo.
Add a geotag and a brief description.
STEP 3: Tag the DOT’s official social media accounts:
TourismPhilippines on Tiktok
Tourism Phl on Instagram
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DepartmentOfTourism
TourismPHL on Twitter
STEP 4: Include the hashtags #KeepTheFunGoing and #ChallengeDone in your caption.
STEP 5: Mention three of your friends in your post.
STEP 6: Make your profile public so that we can see your entry.

An electronic raffle will be used to select all entries. Every Saturday, winners will be announced and notified via Facebook Personal Message. The two grand prize winners will be chosen from among all qualified entries and will receive a FREE TRIP for two to Palawan.
