Why Did I Choose To Become A Nurse?

Being a travel blogger in the Philippines is fun especially if you’re adventurous just like me. After a couple of years, however, I’ve realized that my call is to be a nurse. Nursing saves lives and that’s the one thing I really love about being a nurse. We communicate with our patients, work with health care workers, assisting surgeons during the operation, and many more.

In fact, I didn’t choose BS in Nursing as my course during my college days but my parents wanted me to since my father’s side is mostly health care workers. He told me that I’ll learn to love nursing as much as I love multimedia and I shouldn’t be a worry at all because he promises me that I can take any course after I took nursing lmao. And it totally happened, because after I graduated I took my license exam and took a rest then travel for a yr, and then I went back to multimedia and that’s the reason why I’ve been back in the blogging world.

Blogging is just my past time hobby when I was in high school. I learned how to create a website, use HTML code, web design, and even graphic design on my own. I got inspired by my Taiwanese idol because he has a blog during that time. Yes, I have huge followers on my social media accounts but I never imagine or dreamed of being a blogger for a long period of time, I see myself as a successful nurse abroad. So why did I choose to pursue my nursing career over blogging?

1. Travel the world

Every time I travel it really relaxes me, I guess everyone feels the same. When I was single, I dream of being a travel nurse because I love to travel and explore new things in life but when I met Kristian I turned it down because it’s gonna be hard to become a travel nurse if we can’t able to see each other most of the time. I’ve been to LDR before and it frightens me every time I think about it but not anymore because I trust my boyfriend.

So yes! I wanna travel the world with my loved one since working as a nurse abroad offers a high salary compared here in the Philippines and this is a fact.

2. Competitive salary

As I’ve mentioned, one of the benefits of being a nurse is that the salary is high. Aside from having my business and being a freelance web designer isn’t enough for me. I love expensive stuff because I grew up being spoiled by my parents that’s why I am working hard to buy these things that I want to.

Aside from that, I can also support my family especially my parents and little sister since they’re getting old and they already have maintenance. I also want my sister to study in my school De La Salle or in UST. That’s my goal for her since she’s so smart and pretty. I know that someday she’ll be a successful person.

3. Save lives

When I was a child, I dream to become a surgeon because I love saving lives by operating them. I enjoyed watching these medical series on FOX and Netflix so even though I am just a nurse and being a surgeon didn’t happen it’s totally fine because being an OR Nurse makes me feel that I’m also part of the team who’s helping the person inside the OR table.

4. Future Family

Lastly, I also think about my future self and my future family. I want to make sure that when that time comes I am financially stable because thinking of having a family will cost you a lot. I want them to be happy and healthy just like how my parents took care of me when I was young. They always make sure that we’re doing okay while guiding us with our studies. My mommy and daddy are my inspiration on how to become a good parent :)

And these are the reasons why I want to become a nurse. Nursing school is hard but it’s doable. You just need to work hard, focus on study, and discipline yourself in order to succeed.
